NEW: Insight for the Day 13:02:18: LA Law

Discussion Points:

  1. Do you criticise people
  2. Have you ever been criticised
  3. How did you feel

Case 13:02:2018

If we are honest with ourselves; one of the areas in which we constantly need to renew our minds is in the area of judging our neighbours. We always seem to forget that we were ‘once in the world’ and only by the grace of God are we new creations in Christ. Judging people is not a good idea because most of the time we do not know the full story about the individual’s situation.

I find it even more amazing that we sometimes judge people doing the same thing we use to do when we were yet sinners. Judging others is a symptom of pride, and we need to constantly cloak ourselves with humility. Rather than judge people, we should learn to pray for them.

The Bible in Romans 2 v 21 – 23 gives us an insight into the issue above:

You, then who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal. You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? You who brag about the law, do you dishonour God by breaking the law?

Points to Ponder:

  1. We are not perfect enough to judge others
  2. Commit imperfect people to Jesus who is perfect
  3. We were all sinners but for his love grace that set us free
